The Buffalo Automation Process Control Framework (APC Framework) has been operating successfully in production since November 2003. The main advantage of using a framework for R2R controller development is the reuse of configurable components within the framework. These components include:
- Configuration including business logic, algorithms, etc.
- Parameter database for storing setpoints, limits, etc.
- State database for storing state of equipment, devices, etc.
- Log database for logging controller output, setpoints, limits, etc.
- Security infrastructure
