The parameter database is used to store setpoints, limits, etc. for each tool and/or device running in your facility. Each controller developed can have zero or more individual parameter databases with its own set of context (tool, technology, device, etc.). With the Process Control Framework being XML based, it only make sense to have parameter records that are XML structures. This allows for organization of parameters by control job or as deemed by the requirements of the controller.
